Music Monday: Watch The Throne

Watch The Throne Drops Today !!

The day has finally arrived. Jay-Z and Kanye West, now collectively known as The Throne drop their highly anticipated album, Watch The Throne today. Hip-hop heads, and fans are so in for a treat today, as they've already gone 'H•A•M' for 'Otis'; ← (LIKE WHAT I DID THERE) the leading and only tracks to be released so far from the supergroup's album. I can't wait to see the numbers for the first week sales. Will their combined effort take the number one spot on the charts..? Will this be Jigga's 16th platinum achievement and Ye's 6th..? Being the amongst the most successful rappers of all time it's likely definitely on the cards. The album will be available in stores on the 12th August.

FANS WILL GO H•A•M !!

Random: Kanye x Hov

If You Merged Ye With Jay...

...you would end up with something like above. I have no clue who created this, but it is Whether it was just a bored fan/hater, a genealogist or one of Ye's wacky artsy fartsy friends this 'Kanye x Hov' piece is GENIUS !! The hip-hop moguls, Jay-Z and Kanye West's (now collectively known as 'The Throne') anticipated album is due to drop August 8th. If you haven't seen the track listing yet see the last relating post by clicking here.

CRAZY !!

New Video: All of the Lights

Kanye West: All of the Lights

Freshly premiered via Kanye West's VEVO channel is the video for 'All of the Lights'. FINALLY... the track featuring Rihanna and Kid Cudi was featured on the end of his 'Runaway' video finally has it's own visual. Yet again Mr West has gone for some visually exiting but confusing stuff with the help of directed Hype Williams. The clip is a mixture of flashy neon text and clips of West, RiRi and Cudi individually. CONFUSION... for the first minute of the video there are some real beautiful shots, but you'll kind of be like WTF? and RELEVANCE? but of course it makes sense in due course. The other bit of confusion - unless you've done your research like moi, is that there are all these other stars names at the end of the track. These are some of the guest vocalists including: Alicia Keys, John Legend, The-Dream, Fergie, La Roux, Elton John, Ryan Leslie, Charlie Wilson and Tony Williams. YUP.... I agree that's a lot to take in. All of these stars vocals have been layered so it will be a lot of ear work to hear them all individually. ONE LAST THING.... serious props to Hadaya Turner who was the lead editor on the clip - brilliant work. Now y'all can check the clip out after the jump. Enjoy :)

LOVING THIS !!

VOTW: Kanye West - 'Runaway'

Kanye West: Runaway

If you're thinking "girl there's nothing new about this video", well yes I know !! It's just that the video hasn't been uploaded to the site I use for my VOTW. It's up now, but just in case it's there temporarily you can view Kanye West's longest video right here under this text. Get yourself sitting comfortably, maybe even grab a drink and a snack, because this short film is 30 minutes long. That's just to round the number of to the nearest 10 !! It's really good though, if you have an open mind and a creative imagination. In addition to that a very good attention span !! Enjoy :)

I LOVE THIS, VERY CREATIVE !!

Cover Art: Kanye - Dark Twisted Fantasy

Something Different !!

Kanye West has finally let us know what his Dark Twisted Fantasy is with his crazy album cover !! He tweeted it during the weekend, using the popular online photo album for Twitter - Twitpic. The caption read:

"Banned in the USA!!! They don't want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!"

It follows the artist work that's been on the cover for his single 'Runaway', illustrasted by artist George Condo. Well, I think it looks pretty cool, and you know DIFFERENT !! A little explicit, but who cares..? It's the music we're going to be listening to, I mean who's going to be staring at the cover..? Really..?

THUMBS UP FOR ORIGINALITY !!

New Music: Kanye West 'Devil In A New Dress'

Devil In A New Dress

The second single from Kanye West's gift to us - releasing a new song every Friday until Christmas. They call it the G.O.O.D Music Friday Campaign !! ... is here. This new track that came out on Friday is called 'Devil In A New Dress', the irony is the background vocals sound kind of soulful but then I'm sure he says at the begining "I love the devil" - DAMN !! Maybe it's just my ears. This track brings back the classic Kanye, the Kanye we've been waiting to come back. Check it out...

G.O.O.D Ass Mixtape !!

Mixtape: G.O.O.D Ass Mixtape

With his fifth studio album dropping real soon, November 16th to be precise; Kanye West has decided to drop a mixtape. Entitled G.O.O.D Ass Mixtape, similar to the former name of the upcoming 2010 album, 'G.O.O.D Ass Job' now entitled Dark Twisted Fantasy. It features the likes of Big Sean, Kid Cudi and Fonzworth Bentley - all signees of his G.O.O.D Music label. It has 29 tracks and that's all I can really tell you for now, as I've just downloaded it myself !! The feedback thus far on it is pretty good. Talking of Big Sean I've got a post on him coming up real soon, so keep your eyes peeled !! ANYWAY... here's the download link below. Y'all know what to do with that button. Enjoy and holla back at me with what you think by hitting that comment button below the post !!

THIS SHOULD BE SOME G.O.O.D ASS STUFF !!

Kanye 'Power': (Very Abstract) Cover Art

Cover Art: Kanye - ‘Power’

This piece of art work is the cover for Kanye West’s latest single ‘Power’. Now this has got to be one of the best cover arts I’ve seen in a while. THINK I’M CRAZY..? I understand, but hear what art and any form of creativity is crazy !! This cover art created by an artist called George Condo is very unique. It captures the traditional art when people used to paint and not Photoshop it !!  I mean in the ending process it’s probably been tidied up on the digital art frontier, but this is definitely something creative. It is also something quite comical. I wonder who chopped king Kanye’s head off !! Check out another portrait of Kanye by George, and a rather funny spin of the cover art that surfaced the web. All after the break…

That Taylor Swift one is so funny, I guess that's how she felt when Kanye butted into her recieving her award. Oh well, *KANYE SHRUGS* that's all over and done with, and she should really thank him, that stunt put her on the map. MOVING ON...Plus if you check out his website it has gone under some humongous changes !! ONE MORE THING... If you haven't yet heard Kanye's track 'Power' check it out here. ← IT'S CLICKABLE

SOME COOL STUFF !!

Kanye Got The Power !!

New Music: Kanye 'Power' ft. Dwele

FINALLY something new from Kanye West !! He's been in some serious hiding lately, but he's back and he's much more powerful !! A new track from 'Ye leaked onto the net today featuring vocalist Dwele who's also back with new material. However we don't hear his beautiful vocals until the tail end of the song where he ad libs about "..a beautiful death.."!! The song samples King Crimson's '21st Century Schizoid Man' and has a chanting rock sound to it. MUST THAT NEW SOUND...ANYWAY... 'Ye also sends for Twilight's Taylor Lauter after his 'karate chop' and monologue on SNL, when he raps:

"F*ck SNL and the whole cast. Tell 'em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass"

JHEEEZE !! ..and if you ask 'Ye how he's doing he'll you he's "survivin'". Look out for his upcoming album Good Ass Job← THAT'S THE NAME FO' REAL !! In the meanwhile check out his hot new comeback...

IN THE WORDS OF YEEZY: YOU GOT THE POWER TO LET POWER COME !!
