Carnival Weekend 2010

WELL... today is the main day for Notting Hill Carnival. Though there were rumors going round yesterday that it's cancelled, it is definitly still on. I will be down there taking in the colourful vibes and the music. I LOVE ME SOME LOUD MUSIC !! Carnival Weekend 2010

Notting Hill Carnival has come round again and over the weekend millions of people will be taking part in the celebratory event. Its two days filled with food and dancing, RIGHT UP MY STREET !!- but there is the history behind the event see here. Other than that what I like to do on the Monday (main day) is follow the trucks playing loud Soca and Calypso and the odd Bashment tune. I like to keep it moving, rather than standing up at a sound system listening to a different genre of music. If your going down there today and tomorrow, stay safe, stick with your groups and mostly enjoy yourselves. THIS RIGHT HERE IS MY... usually the missing word would be 'swag', in this case it's crack !! Don't have a clue what I'm talking about..? You'll have to read on, but to sum things up for you: Last week Soulja Boy (who is following me on twitter @JaesJournal) was caught in a scandal where he was at a motel with legendary whore Kat Stacks who spoke of him snorting crack and also having sex with her. DAMN... another rapper caught. Then again would you call Soulja a rapper..?  She's also claiming he messed with her unprotected on her twitter and is she's pregnant she's on a 'have a baby by me be a millionaire' tip. ANYWAY... this dude on twitter @KingBach created a parody and uploaded it a couple hours ago and it's taken the net by storm. It's called the obvious, 'Pretty Boy Crack'. Enjoy :)

Today embarks the 9th anniversary of the late great Aaliyah. She died in a tragic plane crash back in 2001. Oh how time has flown by so fast, but her loss seems yonks ago. He music definitely lives on, and I can only dream and imagin where her music would be today. She most probably would be on top of the R&B charts right about now. My boy Drizzy Drake's video for 'Miss Me' is finally here. The video directed by Anthony Mandler features Lil' Wayne. HOW..? How what huh..? Well as you know Weezy is incarnated right about now, and as posted in mid-July he shot the video for this and 'Fancy'. SO... what they did was shoot Weezy's part on a green screen before he went it - probably when he shot the videos for 'Knock Out' and the rest of them. MY VERDICT... I know some of y'all like to criticise Drizzy's videos, if you didn't like 'Over' well you won't like the video for this one. I liked it, and this one is even cooler !! It follows the same theme in terms of the colours, lighting and the whole projection thing Mandler has got going on. IN ADDITION... you got to read more for that and something else... Enjoy the video :)

... Drake was live on UStream last night - well this morning for us in the UK !! Check the photo (on your right) where he lights a FU candle for his haters !! He briefly spoke about a welcome concert for Lil' Wayne in November. Him working on a R&B mixtape - because he loves us dearly and he's used to giving his fans freebies. For the Drizzy freshers he's working on his next album, so look out !!

The video was directed by one of my favourite directors of the moment - Anthony Mandler. IT'S CRAZY !! Of course there is the trademark event of Trigga getting up close and personal with the ladies, The Barbz doesn't fail to have a little wiggle her self. I'm not quite sure if I'm feeling her makeup with the trademark bob styled wig - this time blonde. I do love her 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya' type voice during the song, and the effect to go with it is WKD !! With his fifth studio album dropping real soon, November 16th to be precise; Kanye West has decided to drop a mixtape. Entitled G.O.O.D Ass Mixtape, similar to the former name of the upcoming 2010 album, 'G.O.O.D Ass Job' now entitled Dark Twisted Fantasy. It features the likes of Big Sean, Kid Cudi and Fonzworth Bentley - all signees of his G.O.O.D Music label. It has 29 tracks and that's all I can really tell you for now, as I've just downloaded it myself !! The feedback thus far on it is pretty good. Talking of Big Sean I've got a post on him coming up real soon, so keep your eyes peeled !! ANYWAY... here's the download link below. Back in April Erykah Badu hit the headlines with her controversial video for 'Window Seat' after she strolled the streets of Dallas, stripping !! CAN'T REMEMBER..? See here. Well she's back with the same track, got THA BOSS Rick Ross on the remix and also dropped in a snippet of 'Turn Me Away (Get MuNNY)' on it. All of these squeezed into a 4 minute video !! TRUST ME... it's wicked. The way 'Turn Me Away' dropped in I was literally like JHEEEZE !! Ja'e Been Busy !!

Hey lovely people. Now you're probably saying and thinking WHERE THE F*CK HAVE YOU BEEN. I don't blame you either, but when you got to do what you got to do, you got to do it right..? THAT DOESN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE !! Well I've been doing a film course, as you know I'm a lady of the media, I got to keep tabs with all these things. I'm like the oldest person there, but it's an experience. We're making a short film, so far titled 'Escape From The Hood' and it's like working hours. All for something that's only going to be 5 minute long !!  ANYWAY... to gain some Arts qualification I've had to start a blog - diary style of what we've been up to over the 10 day course. At this point I'm like half way through.

RELEVANCE...  since I've started this course along with the other things I do, it's really ate into my real blogging - right here, informing and entertaining you.
